Oakland Athletics first baseman Nick Kurtz is reportedly unlikely to return for the rest of the 2026 season after re-aggravating a right capsule sprain and chronic volar plate tear in his thumb. Kurtz was placed on the injured list on August 4 and underwent a platelet-rich plasma injection.
