FIFA Reports Record $9.89 Billion in Men's Football Transfer Fees, Driven by World Cup Stars

FIFA announced on Thursday that international transfer fees in men's football reached a record $9.89 billion during the recently concluded mid-year transfer window. Players who participated in the 2026 World Cup accounted for over $3.3 billion of these fees. Women's football also saw record international transfer spending, more than doubling from 2025 to $28.6 million.
