World No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka Upset by Nikola Bartunkova in China Open Third Round

Second-ranked Aryna Sabalenka was eliminated from the China Open in the third round, losing in straight sets (6-4, 6-3) to the Czech Republic's Nikola Bartunkova. This upset follows the earlier exit of newly-crowned world No. 1 Elena Rybakina, leaving the WTA 1000 tournament without its top two seeds in the first week.
