MLB Proposes Shortened Regular Season and Expanded Division Series

Major League Baseball has proposed significant changes to its format, including shortening the regular season from 162 to 154 games starting in 2029 and expanding the Division Series to a best-of-seven format. The plan, presented to players during collective bargaining, also suggests adding nine extra days off to the postseason and allowing higher-seeded teams to pick their opponents in the first two rounds.
