MLB Injury Report: Ohtani avoids surgery, Fried's elbow clean, Woodruff throwing

Recent injury updates in MLB indicate that Shohei Ohtani will not require surgery on his biceps or knee and is expected to both pitch and hit in 2027. Max Fried's elbow imaging came back clean after the 2026 season. Additionally, Brewers pitcher Brandon Woodruff has been throwing in the bullpen, though he is not expected to be included on the World Series roster.
