SoftBank to Invest Up to €75 Billion in 5 GW AI Data Center Capacity in France

SoftBank Group Corp. announced a commitment to develop and operate 5 gigawatts of AI data center capacity in France, representing an investment of up to 75 billion euros. The initial phase involves a 45 billion euro investment for a 3.1 gigawatt AI data center in the Hauts-de-France region by 2031. This initiative, part of the 2026 Choose France summit, aims to bolster France's AI infrastructure and European technological sovereignty, with a partnership with Schneider Electric for local manufacturing.
