US and Japan Launch $1 Billion Deep Tech Collaboration for Genesis Mission

The U.S. Department of Energy, alongside Japan's MEXT and METI, has initiated a $1 billion strategic partnership, making Japan the first international partner in the Genesis Mission. This collaboration will involve eleven joint scientific teams from U.S. National Laboratories and Japanese research institutions. Their focus will be on advancing breakthroughs in quantum information science, fusion energy, biotechnology, advanced materials, particle physics, and AI-powered autonomous laboratory systems.
