India Aims to Meet Half of its Semiconductor Demand Domestically by FY35
India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) estimates that domestic manufacturing will fulfill 50% of the country's semiconductor demand by fiscal year 2035. This initiative, supported by 12 projects under the India Semiconductor Mission incentive scheme, with at least four commencing commercial production this year, aims to significantly reduce India's reliance on semiconductor imports.
