US Government Allocates $2 Billion for Quantum Technology Development
The U.S. Department of Commerce has announced a $2 billion investment through the CHIPS and Science Act to support nine quantum technology firms. This funding is intended to accelerate the creation of fault-tolerant quantum computers and establish quantum foundries. A significant portion, $1 billion, is earmarked for IBM to develop a superconducting wafer fabrication foundry.
