Chinese company Yangtze Optical Fiber and Cable Joint Stock Limited Company (YOFC) has established a new world record in optical communications. They achieved an unrepeatered WDM capacity-distance performance of 51.3 Tb/s over 128 miles using hollow-core fiber technology. This significant breakthrough aims to address the increasing networking demands and potential bottlenecks in the era of artificial intelligence.
