Infineon Officially Opens €5 Billion Smart Power Fab in Dresden, Boosting AI and EV Chip Supply

Infineon has officially commenced operations at its Smart Power Fab in Dresden, Saxony, Germany, on July 2, 2026, months ahead of schedule. This €5 billion investment marks Infineon's largest single investment and will double the Dresden site's production capacity, making it the world's largest manufacturing base for intelligent power semiconductors and analog/mixed-signal technologies. The new fab will produce advanced semiconductor products crucial for AI data center power supplies, renewable energy systems, grid infrastructure, and software-defined vehicles.
