NASA Deploys CubeSat for Faster In-Orbit Tech Validation Using Edge Computing

NASA's Johnson Space Center has launched the R5-S9 CubeSat, developed with Sandia National Laboratories, to accelerate technology testing in space. This mission will demonstrate edge computing for autonomous observation and test a new low-cost optical communication system. The use of commercial components aims for rapid development and deployment of new space technologies.
