Japan Government and NVIDIA Launch World's First National AI Infrastructure with 27,500 Rubin GPUs
The Japanese government, in partnership with NVIDIA and Noetra Corp., has launched the world's first national AI infrastructure for physical AI. This initiative, supported by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), will deploy 13,750 NVIDIA Vera CPUs and 27,500 NVIDIA Rubin GPUs, providing 140 megawatts of data center capacity. The AI factory will serve as the computing foundation for Japan's FRONTia Project, aiming to develop open multimodal foundation models for AI agents, digital twins, and robotics.
