The SEMI Silicon Manufacturers Group (SMG) reported a 7.4% year-on-year increase in worldwide silicon wafer shipments for Q2 2026, reaching 3,573 million square inches (MSI). This growth is primarily driven by robust and expanding AI-related demand, extending beyond advanced logic and memory to include power devices and photonics. Industrial and automotive markets are also showing signs of recovery.
