Researchers Uncover 84 Flaws in 4G and 5G Core Networks, Including Session Hijacking

An academic study has revealed 84 security vulnerabilities in 4G and 5G core networks, including a widespread class of implicit trust errors that could lead to denial-of-service attacks and session hijacking. The flaws affect multiple open-source LTE/5G core implementations and are present in both research testbeds and commercial deployments.
