The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has added foreign-made advanced robotic devices, including humanoid and four-legged robots, to its list of equipment posing unacceptable national security risks. The determination, made under the Secure Networks Act, cites concerns that these networked robots could be used for surveillance, espionage, or remote manipulation, potentially exposing critical infrastructure and sensitive data. The ban applies to future imports, with China's commerce ministry reportedly threatening retaliation.
