SK hynix and Sandisk Unveil First Open HBF Standard to Address AI Memory Bottlenecks
SK hynix, in collaboration with Sandisk, has unveiled the first standard specifications for High Bandwidth Flash (HBF) via the Open Compute Project (OCP) at FMS 2026. HBF is a new memory layer designed to overcome AI memory bottlenecks by combining high-speed data transfer with expanded capacity, with Google and Tenstorrent participating in the consortium.
