SK hynix, in collaboration with Sandisk, has unveiled the first standard specifications for High Bandwidth Flash (HBF), a next-generation storage technology. This announcement, made at 'FMS 2026', introduces a new memory layer between HBM and SSDs, enabling high-speed data transfer while significantly expanding capacity using NAND technology. The specification was disclosed through the Open Compute Project (OCP) to establish it as an open industry standard.
