Teleoperated Humanoid Robots Successfully Perform Live Surgery in Preclinical Trials

For the first time, two teleoperated humanoid robots have successfully completed preclinical surgeries. In one procedure, a humanoid robot and a human surgeon performed a gallbladder removal, while a second surgery involved two humanoid robots working together. These procedures were conducted on large non-primate mammals. This breakthrough, reported by researchers from the University of California San Diego, marks a significant step towards integrating humanoid robots into operating rooms, potentially improving surgical access in remote areas.
