Humanoid Robots Successfully Conduct Surgeries in Preclinical Trials

Researchers at the University of California San Diego have reported the first successful preclinical surgeries using teleoperated humanoid robots. In one instance, a humanoid robot assisted a human surgeon with a gallbladder removal, while in another, two robots collaborated on a procedure. These surgeries, performed on large non-primate mammals, represent a significant advancement toward integrating humanoid robots into operating rooms to potentially enhance surgical access and efficiency.
