Thales Launches Luna 8 Hardware Security Module for Post-Quantum Cryptography Readiness

Thales has introduced Luna 8, a new network hardware security module (HSM) designed to protect cryptographic keys and prepare organizations for the era of post-quantum cryptography. The Luna 8 features a custom-designed cryptographic processor to manage keys for various applications, supporting both current and future post-quantum algorithms with an upgradeable architecture. This launch, announced during Black Hat USA 2026, aims to deliver significantly faster cryptographic operations and scale from enterprise to hyperscale environments, addressing the unprecedented risks posed by quantum computing to existing encryption standards.
