US Department of Energy and Arcee AI Launch Open-Weight Scientific AI Model

The U.S. Department of Energy and Arcee AI have launched Genesis-Science-1 (GS1), an open-weight AI model and governed research system specifically designed for scientific computing workflows. A contribution portal for universities, national laboratories, companies, and research organizations opened on August 6, 2026, as part of the new Genesis Mission program. This initiative aims to foster collaborative AI development to accelerate scientific discoveries.
