Google Assistant to be Replaced by Gemini App on Android Devices

Google is set to replace its Google Assistant app with the Gemini app on Android devices, including phones, tablets, smartwatches, and headphones, starting September 4, 2026. While Android Auto users with Google built-in will retain Google Assistant, the company plans to extend Gemini support to Google Home speakers and TV devices in the future.
