Sony Semiconductor Solutions and TSMC Form Joint Venture for Next-Generation Smartphone Image Sensors in Japan

Sony Semiconductor Solutions and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) have signed a definitive agreement to establish 'Advanced Vision Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation,' a joint venture in Koshi City, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. This JV will focus on the development and volume production of next-generation image sensors for smartphones, with manufacturing expected to commence in 2029. Sony will be the controlling shareholder.
