Sony Semiconductor Solutions and TSMC have finalized an agreement to create Advanced Vision Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation, a joint venture in Koshi City, Japan. This new entity will focus on developing and mass-producing next-generation image sensors for smartphones using advanced process technology. Volume production is anticipated to begin in 2029, signaling a strategic move to enhance capabilities in a critical component market.
