Samsung is reportedly evaluating a plan to convert its NRD-K Line 2, currently under construction as an R&D facility in Giheung, into a foundry production line. This strategic shift aims to mass-produce 2nm base (logic) dies for next-generation High Bandwidth Memory (HBM), specifically targeting anticipated demand growth from key customers like NVIDIA. The facility is slated to open in the second half of 2028.
