Google Cloud to Enable Resource-based Committed Use Discount (CUD) Sharing by Default for New and Eligible Existing Accounts

Google Cloud has announced that, starting June 16, 2026, the default setting for Resource-based Committed Use Discount (CUD) sharing will change from disabled to enabled for new billing accounts and eligible existing accounts without active CUDs. This update aims to automatically maximize savings by pooling underutilized discounts across resources, while users retain full control to adjust their CUD sharing preferences.
