Nokia Exits China, Deepening Telecom Split as Nvidia Invests in 6G AI Development

Finnish telecom equipment maker Nokia is withdrawing from mainland China, closing nearly all its remaining sites by year-end, including its Hangzhou R&D center and offices in Beijing, Chengdu, Qingdao, and Shanghai. This move signifies a growing separation of telecom supply lines between Europe and China. Concurrently, Nvidia, which acquired a stake in Nokia last year, is collaborating to develop AI-powered 6G network technology, with T-Mobile planning trials in 2026.
