Nvidia & Supermicro Staff Indicted Over AI Server Exports
Taiwanese authorities have indicted nine individuals, including employees from Nvidia and Super Micro Computer, for their alleged involvement in the illegal export of high-end artificial intelligence (AI) servers to China, violating US export controls. The indictments follow an investigation into the shipment of advanced AI servers containing Nvidia's B300 chips, which are popular for training AI models. Prosecutors described a Taiwan-based senior manager at Nvidia as the "central figure" in a scheme involving 130 B300 servers, stating the actions "seriously damaging Taiwan's international image."
