SK Telecom Launches Dedicated AI Data Center Company 'SK Horizon' with KRW 3.08 Trillion Investment

SK Telecom has spun off its AI data center and submarine cable businesses into a new dedicated company, SK Horizon, securing KRW 3.08 trillion (approximately US$2.22 billion) in investments from KKR and the IMM Investment-Stonebridge consortium. SK Horizon will manage and expand SKT's AI data center infrastructure, targeting 318MW of capacity across eight existing and new facilities, and will also focus on expanding submarine cable connectivity crucial for global AI operations.
