SK hynix has commenced construction of an advanced packaging production facility for AI memory in West Lafayette, Indiana, with an investment exceeding $4 billion. This initiative aims to establish the first U.S. HBM production hub, integrating with South Korean production to create a Korea-U.S. AI semiconductor supply chain. Mass production of next-generation HBM is slated for the second half of 2029, significantly bolstering the U.S. domestic AI semiconductor supply chain.
