South Korea's Jeonnam-Gwangju Region to Invest 6 Trillion Won in AI Memory Chip Production

The Jeonnam-Gwangju region in South Korea is set to invest 6 trillion won (approximately $4.5 billion USD) between 2027 and 2030 to expand its advanced semiconductor manufacturing capabilities. This significant push focuses on increasing production capacity for AI memory chips and strengthening advanced packaging for system chips, as well as bolstering the supply chain for materials, parts, and equipment.
