SK hynix to Establish US$4 Billion HBM Production Base in Indiana to Address AI Chip Shortage

SK hynix CEO Kwak Noh-Jung announced that the firm's new US$4 billion factory in Indiana will become a "key HBM production base in America" by 2030. This investment aims to address the critical global shortage of high-bandwidth memory (HBM), which is in high demand due to advancements in AI technologies. The factory will focus on advanced packaging, stacking, and connecting memory chips manufactured in South Korea, thereby strengthening the US semiconductor supply chain and contributing to national and economic security.
