Indian Government Notifies ₹1,270 Billion Semicon 2.0 Scheme to Boost Chip Ecosystem

The Indian government has formally notified the Semicon 2.0 scheme with an outlay of ₹1,270 billion (approximately $15.2 billion USD), aimed at building a stronger and more self-reliant semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem. The program covers six key segments of the semiconductor value chain, including chip design, manufacturing of production equipment, fabrication facilities, assembly, packaging, and testing. This initiative is expected to attract investments and expand domestic manufacturing capabilities across the chip value chain.
