AWS Announces First Cloud Infrastructure Region in Saudi Arabia to Launch in December 2026
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced that its first Cloud Infrastructure Region in Saudi Arabia is scheduled to launch in December 2026. This development, revealed at LEAP 2026 in Riyadh, includes a strategic collaboration with HUMAIN, a Public Investment Fund–owned company, to provide up to 50 megawatts (MW) of capacity in Saudi Arabia's first AI Zone by 2028. The AI Zone will feature AWS's Trainium chips and NVIDIA AI infrastructure, aiming to bolster the Kingdom's AI leadership and support its Vision 2030 goals.
