South Korea Initiates Five-Year Semiconductor Master Plan to Boost Industry Competitiveness

South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy has commenced drafting a legally mandated five-year master plan aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of its semiconductor industry. The plan, which will cover the period from 2027 to 2031, follows a special law and enforcement decree that took effect on August 11. Experts will refine policy directions and cross-government tasks through subcommittees, with final confirmation expected by the end of the year.
