A new poll by Elon University researchers, in collaboration with The Washington Post, reveals that 27% of U.S. adults are using AI chatbots like OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Gemini for personal, emotional, or social queries. This includes seeking entertainment, relationship advice, romantic chats, or connection when feeling alone. The trend is more pronounced among adults under 50, with nearly 40% reporting such usage, highlighting a growing integration of AI into intimate aspects of daily life.
