Google Releases Emergency Update for Actively Exploited Chrome Zero-Day Vulnerability

Google has rolled out an emergency desktop update to address a high-severity zero-day vulnerability, tracked as CVE-2026-85046, in its V8 JavaScript engine. The flaw, described as a type confusion bug, is actively being exploited in the wild, allowing remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted HTML page. Users are urged to install the latest Chrome update (version 152.0.7977.82/.83 on Windows and macOS, and 152.0.7977.82 on Linux) and relaunch the browser to apply the fix.
