AMD Unveils Threadripper Halo AI Workstation to Challenge Nvidia in Local AI Inference

AMD has introduced the Threadripper Halo, a new workstation designed to support developers with local AI inference and agent orchestration. Unveiled at IFA 2026, the Threadripper Halo features a 96-core Threadripper Pro 9995WX CPU and two MI350P GPUs, with an option to expand to four GPUs. AMD highlights that the device boasts 3.4 times the total system memory compared to Nvidia's DGX Station, positioning it as a powerful contender for running frontier models and fleets of AI agents.
