Taiwanese Chip Testing and Packaging Firms Report Strong August Growth Driven by AI and HPC Demand

Taiwan's leading chip testing and packaging companies, including Powertech Technology Inc., King Yuan Electronics Co., and Sigurd Microelectronics Corp., experienced significant revenue growth in August. This surge was primarily driven by the robust demand for memory chip packaging and testing, as well as increased testing requirements for AI and high-performance computing (HPC) chips. Powertech benefited from a recovery in memory chip demand, while King Yuan saw growth from AI and HPC testing. Sigurd also reported strong performance from AI, high-speed connectivity, and advanced-process smartphone chips, with its newly acquired Hukou plant beginning mass production in July.
