Google Patches Actively Exploited Chrome V8 Zero-Day Vulnerability (CVE-2026-87491)

Google has released updates to address 230 security vulnerabilities in Chrome, including a medium-severity zero-day flaw (CVE-2026-87491) in its V8 JavaScript and WebAssembly engine that is actively being exploited in the wild. The vulnerability, described as an out-of-bounds write bug, could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code within the browser's sandbox via a specially crafted HTML page. Users are urged to update their Chrome browsers to versions 153.0.8010.36/.37 for Windows and macOS, and 153.0.8010.36 for Linux.
