Anthropic CEO Calls for Slower AI Development Amid Safety Concerns

His proposal includes a three-step plan for coordination among leading AI companies in democratic countries to establish common safety standards. This call comes after an AI researcher left OpenAI to join Anthropic and then left the industry, accusing companies of "gambling with our lives" in the race for self-improving models. Other tech leaders, including OpenAI's Sam Altman and xAI's Elon Musk, have publicly supported the call for a slowdown.
