MediaTek has launched its Dimensity 9600 Pro, the first mobile processor built on TSMC's cutting-edge 2-nanometer process, and the Dimensity 9600M, using TSMC's 3-nanometer process. These new chips are designed to enhance AI features directly on devices, marking MediaTek's push into the premium smartphone market to compete with rivals like Qualcomm. The 9600 Pro includes a dedicated neural processing unit (NPU) for complex generative AI applications, showing a 51% improvement in processing user prompts.
