China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) newspaper has called for accelerating the deployment of humanoid robots from laboratories to military training grounds, referring to them as 'combatants.' This follows a humanoid robot, Tiangong Ultra, setting a new 100-meter sprint record of 8.64 seconds at the World Humanoid Robot Games. The development highlights China's advanced capabilities in integrating motors, sensors, and control software for highly capable robotic hardware, signaling a significant shift towards potential military applications of advanced robotics.
