Huawei Unveils New AI Computing Cluster and Interconnect Technology
Huawei has launched its Atlas 960 SuperPoD computing cluster and an upgraded UnifiedBus interconnect technology, aiming to enhance its AI capabilities and reduce China's dependence on Nvidia. The new SuperPoD is designed to connect up to 4,000 processors, offering significant improvements in training and inference for large AI models. Huawei also announced plans to release its next-generation Ascend 960DT AI chip in Q1 2027 and the 960PR inference chip in Q3 2027, accelerating its chip development timeline.
