NewPhotonics and Tower Semiconductor have commenced high-volume shipments of their laser-integrated, serviceable optical engine Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs). These chips are designed to meet the escalating demand for high-bandwidth, energy-efficient optical interconnects crucial for artificial intelligence infrastructure, supporting data rates from 800G to 1.6T with future plans for 6.4T NPO solutions.
