Cloudflare to Become Public Certificate Authority for the Post-Quantum Web

Cloudflare has announced its intention to become a public Certificate Authority (CA), offering an open service to issue digital certificates for websites. This new CA will support both traditional encryption and next-generation post-quantum Merkle Tree Certificates (MTCs), providing a path for websites to remain protected as quantum computing advances. Cloudflare plans to acquire established Root CA key material from GlobalSign to ensure ubiquity.
