Germany's Aleph Alpha Launches Kolibri AI Model for Sovereign Applications

German AI startup Aleph Alpha has introduced Kolibri, a new bilingual Mixture-of-Experts Transformer model. Designed for sovereign, mission-critical work in regulated sectors, Kolibri aims to compete with US and Chinese AI models by offering on-premises deployment for data privacy. It reportedly outperforms rivals in several reasoning, coding, and information-navigation benchmarks.
