AWS European Cloud to Test Independence from Global Network

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has scheduled a planned exercise for October 24, 2026, where its European Sovereign Cloud will operate independently from the global AWS network backbone for several hours. This test aims to demonstrate the cloud's operational autonomy and resilience, directly addressing European regulatory demands for data sovereignty and control by relying solely on localized resources and EU-resident personnel.
