TSMC to Begin 3nm Semiconductor Production at New Kumamoto Facility by December 2028

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co Ltd (TSMC) has received approval from the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry for its revised production plan for the Kumamoto Second Plant. The facility is now set to commence production of advanced 3nm logic semiconductors by December 2028, reflecting growing demand for cutting-edge chips in AI and high-performance computing.
